About the Director

Timothy A. Tolar

Welcome to the RTMS Choral page.  I wanted to take a minute and let you know a little about myself.  I am starting my second year at River Trail and my third year teaching choir.  I currently teach the 6th, 7th, 8th grade choirs, as well as being responsible for the newly revived musical theater program.  Last year, RTMS had over 200 students participate in chorus and had many performance opportunities from District Honor Chorus, LGPE (Large Group Performance Evaluation), as well as the Southern Star Music Festival.  
I am an active member of my own choral community. I regularly sing in several church ensembles as well as singing with Kinnara, a choral ensemble based out of Cambridge, NJ.  I also regularly sing with The Atlanta Opera Chorus.  I am recently married to my lovely wife Sophie and we are enjoying the newly-wed life.  We are the proud parents of two amazing dogs, Jamie and Tucker.
I am excited for the 19/20 year and all of the musical possibilities we will accomplish together.  There is a lot to be involved in, so please jump in wherever you find interest.  Please let me know how I can help.
